Today we're going to be covering the process of checking and enabling notifications for the TrueNorth app for both iOS and Android. Here's a video on how to accomplish this, followed by written instructions by device type:

Instructions by Device Type

Android:

Step 1: Unlock Your Android Device

Unlock your Android device by entering your PIN, pattern, password, or using biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition).

Step 2: Open Settings

Locate the Settings app on your home screen or in the app drawer. It typically has a gear or cogwheel icon.

Step 3: Navigate to "Notifications"

Scroll down the Settings menu and look for the "Notifications", "Apps", or "Apps & Notifications" option, depending on your device and Android version. Tap on it to access the notification settings, listed by app.

Step 4: Select the App

Depending on your Android device, you will need to scroll down to "Recently Sent" (you may need to click "more" before starting this step). Scroll down to find TrueNorth, making sure the drop-down option in the top-left corner reads "All" instead of "Most recent". Once you've found it, tap the name or icon to open the Notifications menu for TrueNorth.

Step 5: Enable Notifications

Within the menu you just opened, look for the "Notifications" section. Toggle the switch to the ON position to enable notifications for this app.

Step 6: Customize Notification Settings and Categories (Optional)

Depending on the Android version and device, you may have options to customize notification preferences such as sound, vibration, or notification style. Adjust these settings based on your preferences. Additionally, some Android devices also allow you to customize notification categories for specific apps. If available, explore these options to further refine your notification settings.

iOS:

Step 1: Unlock Your iOS Device

Ensure your iOS device is unlocked by entering your passcode, using Touch ID, or Face ID.

Step 2: Open Settings

Locate the Settings app on your home screen. It has a gear or cogwheel icon and is usually found in the first few rows of icons.

Step 3: Scroll and Select "Notifications"

Scroll down the Settings menu and look for the "Notifications" option. Tap on it to access the notification settings for your apps.

Step 4: Choose the TrueNorth App

Scroll through the list of apps to find TrueNorth, and tap on the app name to access the notification settings.

Step 5: Enable "Allow Notifications"

Within the TrueNorth notification settings menu, you'll find an option labeled "Allow Notifications." If it's not already on, toggle the switch to the ON position to enable notifications for this app.

Step 6: Customize Notification Settings (Optional)

You're all set to go, but if you'd like to customize your notification preferences even further for sound, badges, or banner style, this is the place to do it!
